In the beginning, man and woman were dedicated to each other, always committed and loving each other. However, there lived a man who lived in the desert. The local townspeople believed that he was more of an animal than a human, as he lived with the snakes and mites and buried under sand. He would visit the town disguised and seemed to rape every woman he could find. The townspeople tolerated this, fearful of retribution from the gods if they killed the man.
For protection, the chief of the town secured her daughter in a secret cave far from the town. The daughter was not allowed to leave the cave. However, she was very lonely in her cave and one day decided to escape. She fastened a club from the stalactites above and knocked out the guards meant to keep nothing from going in or out. Using one of her guard’s cloaks, she ventured to the town, seeing the beautiful architecture and sights it contained. However, that day was the fateful day that the desert man was visiting the town. She was lured into an alley, and the man attacked her.
Shortly after, the chief noticed that there was a woman unconscious in a lone alleyway. Upon further examination, he discovered it was his daughter. Filled with rage about what he suspected to have happened, the chief led a band of warriors to kill the desert man. They eventually found him and killed him, dismembering his corpse and burying it in the sand to be eaten by the mites.
What they did not know was that the animal man was a god of temptation. He had been testing the town by implanting false memories into the women of the town. The Archgod had told him that the town’s goodness needed to be tested. A side effect of this was that the affected women became mad and sobbed uncontrollably, mimicking a woman who had been raped. Angered by his death, the Archgod decided to implant the citizens of the town with the mites that the desert man had lived in.
